2010 could just prove to be a great year.  England might yet win the world cup, Andy Murray might even win Wimbledon and Glastonbury might just stay dry (well, until Sunday at least).

Although the main stages don't open until tomorrow, the crowds are already heaving, the sunscreen all but forgotten amid a frenzy of cider and lager-soaked sun lounging in some of the highest temperatures so far this year.  It makes a mockery of the fact I splashed out (no pun intended) nearly twenty quid on a new pair of wellies.

Still, dust and mild sunstroke is preferably to mud and a wet tent.  The weather forecast is for a little rain on Sunday, during the England World Cup match, hope that's not an omen for damp spirits all round.  The forecast for Glastonbury in general is lots of music and festivities.  We'll be trying out Singstar in the new Cocktails and Dreams bar, partaking in a spot of Rum tasting and salsa classes in the Latin Tent, and debating world issues at Leftfield.  There's lots more to this festival than Lily Allen and N-Dubz (God help us).
